Barricade volunteers help verify proper implementation and placement of traffic control plan, assist spectator entrance into the parade area, and staff the barricades during the parade to maintain a secure and orderly perimeter of the parade area and route.
Act as a point of reference for incoming volunteers to register, receive t-shirts, learn about their duties and be directed to their respective places. Offer details about the event and supply water, snacks, and lunches when needed. This role involves sitting down and presents a great chance to interact with other volunteers!
Gives entries their parade number, gives instructions on lining up and offers refreshments.
Get the Parade off on the right foot. You will help Parade Day participants find their units, line them up and send them
off!
As a volunteer, you must be 14 years of age or older by the day of the event. Although, if you are volunteering with an organized and supervised group, such as Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, sporting teams, school, business or church groups, then you are eligible to participate regardless of your age. For those under 18, we ask that a parent or legal guardian completes our Parental Permission Form in order for their assistance to be counted. We thank you in advance for your commitment in helping us make this event a memorable one!

Volunteering in the Everett 4th of July community service program is an excellent opportunity to actively engage with your neighbors. Additionally, we prioritize your safety by providing adult supervision and implementing necessary precautions. As a teenage volunteer, you'll have the chance to explore various roles such as event setup and customer service allowing you to acquire valuable experience and skills that will benefit your future endeavors.

Upon completing the registration process, you will gain access to the comprehensive volunteer guidelines and requirements. Below are a few fundamental points to consider:
Code of Conduct: Show respect to all individuals, including guests, attendees, and fellow volunteers. Avoid any form of bias based on age, gender, or ethnicity. Stay composed and rational in any circumstances. Should issues arise, don't hesitate to reach out to a staff member, your team supervisor, or a committee representative for help. Our team is here to support you.
Shift Completion: When your shift concludes and no one has taken over, kindly inform a supervisor and remain in your designated area until a replacement arrives. If this marks the last or sole shift for the event, ensure to consult with your supervisor before departing.
Dress Code: All volunteers are required to wear the designated volunteer t-shirt along with pants, shorts, or capris, and comfortable tennis shoes. The dress code may differ depending on the specific volunteer duties. Additionally, it is advisable to bring a jacket, hat, or sunglasses suitable for the weather conditions.
Attendance: Your active involvement is crucial for us. It is essential that you show up on time for your scheduled shifts. By committing, you are agreeing to be present for the selected shift(s) and stay for the entire duration of the shift.
Weather: Don't let rain deter you from attending our event, as they will proceed regardless of the weather. Your presence is important to us! Please dress appropriately for the forecasted conditions for your comfort. In case of severe weather, volunteers will be informed accordingly.
Placement: Kindly be advised that the Everett July Fourth Foundation retains the authority to reallocate volunteer duties as necessary, taking into account previous volunteer experience, unforeseen requirements, or changes in the event schedule. While we will make every effort to accommodate your initial preference, we cannot guarantee it.

Yes, all volunteers must attend at least one session of orientation and training.
Yes, all volunteers must attend all hand meeting. Volunteers will receive radio call training and any Everett Police Department concerns we should be made aware of.

Everett Transit buses do not run on July 4th.
Community Transit Blueline Swift will be on Sunday Schedule and the nearest stop to volunteer check-in is Wetmore Ave Station.
The parade will begin at 11am and conclude by about 1:15pm. We are asking volunteers to plan to stay until at least 2 PM

No, drinking alcoholic beverages while volunteering is prohibited.

We are a lively volunteer organization, buzzing with enthusiastic individuals from an array of diverse backgrounds! These dedicated volunteers donate their precious time throughout the year and on the famed 4th of July to bring you incredible parade that pull crowds to Everett each year. We're responsible for all these fantastic happenings you eagerly attend annually! However, this is no easy feat! We need your support too. Even when fireworks of the 4th of July have danced in the sky and faded, your assistance can make a difference. There's an abundance of ways you can contribute after our vibrant festivities have closed out!
We need volunteers. You can help in many ways. Before the 4th, we need help with event planning, organization, and fundraising. We also need help on the 4th from 7 AM to 1 PM.
